Our Face Saviour: BB Cream

PICK OF THE BUNCH: BB CREAMS

Blemish Balm, Blemish Base, or simply BB cream; whatever you call it, this stuff is the stuff.

Hannah:

Asian ladies have been using this for donkey’s years for

it’s whitening and brightening qualities. This is how I came across it, when I was in the Philippines visiting my family and borrowed some of my Aunt’s BB cream after I finished all of my foundation. The texture of this cream is amazing. It’s light and creamy, yet the coverage can be full depending on how you apply it. I brought some back to Australia and this has (almost) permanently replaced my usual face primer.

What I was using was Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals Instant Skin Perfecting B.B cream. It’s perfect for evening the skin tone and it has an SPF26

. Amazing. The only downside to this is that can get a bit oily, and the colour range is on the whiter side. So be sure to powder on top. It was pretty inexpensive @ around 600 pesos (around 12AUD).

Colour Collection also does a popular one that is priced at P599.

So if you’re travelling to Asia, this will come in handy.

Tash:

If you’re not travelling overseas anytime soon, Garnier recently released Australia’s first BB cream. I use this everyday. It's very smooth, a bit oily at first but if you work it in well its good. It has good coverage for me, for everyday use two applications of it and a finishing powder on top as an alternative to foundation is much lighter than your regular foundation. Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One BB cream, is available at supermarkets and all good pharmacies.

Another worth noting:

Clinique Age Defense BB Cream SPF 30 PA: $48.99 @
